The last few weeks we've been very focused on pulling many more peers into our alphaNet to test Holochain's durability at scale using Elemental Chat. We were confident enough to invite all our testers and HoloPort owners to the test. We reached over 450 total peers before we paused the testing yesterday. It was a super helpful test in that it assisted us to find a bottleneck in the Holo servicelogger infrastructure. We also identified a needed change for the Elemental Chat app that is only possible now because of the improvements made to Holochain which allow for better and better app architecture. The great news is that Holochain and especially gossip continues to perform very well at the scale of this test and it looks ready for the leap to thousands of live users. We've already made some changes to the code this week which we'll begin testing internally this weekend and into next week. After that we'll begin growing the peers again by inviting sequentially each group of people who have signed up to participate with us, and then after that we will publicly share the access links.
