Last week we shared that we were tuning automated testing to narrow-in our analysis of the super-fast signals performance of Elemental Chat. We are looking for some easy optimisations for this stage of release. The Holo and Holochain teams worked in superb coordination to be able to do this - significantly improving our load testing capabilities and it appears we have pinpointed an issue. In Holochain, we found a bug in how we store and use connections related to the use of URLs instead of IPs. This one issue meant that our intended use of Quic to handle all the control flow was bypassed. We're running tests to confirm the analysis today and will be sorting out a solution based on the findings. If our hunch about this is right, we'll see significantly improved delivery of signal messages at scale - meaning we can proceed with testing and broader releases.
